Today´s horoscope--breezy adventures coming my way
Current mood: hot
Scorpio: Today will be another breezy day -- fresh air will be blowing in from every direction, and it will give you peace while still piquing your curiosity. This is perfect timing, since right now new ideas, new people and even a few new adventures will start pouring into your life. Investigate everything you can! If you gravitate toward less-conventional people and places, you'll have a ball trying to figure them out. Ask leading questions, and keep your ears wide open for hidden meaning.
Looking forward to that breeze--it´s a million degrees here in Sevilla and I´m sweating so much I don´t marion, even though I drink ALL the water.
I am having the most fun EVER. It´s so nice to be here with my family, and having Jason here is a great bonus. I love finally merging two parts of my life together, even as it´s a little surreal. Like Paula speaking English and driving. Wow. When I met her she was 13, now she´s 21. And Maria, well, no surprise there. She´s always been fantastic and I just expect her to do everything. We´re having dinner with Paz tonight, can´t wait to see how that goes with Jason. He´s so going to fall in love with her.
I went to Manolo´s store yesterday, he had no idea I was here, but once he recovered from the shock, he actually came out from behind the counter to kiss me. As much as I can hate Sevilla for its esoteric homogeneous culture, it´s just as powerful to be known and and liked, especially in the neighborhood, not just in the house. I´ll stop by the quiosco later and see if Marco is there. Another heart attack imminent on the streets of Los Remedios.
No entry in my travel blog would be complete without my food. Paz left me and Paula to our own devices yesterday for lunch. Pork fillets a la plancha, gazpacho, mashed potatoes, salad with tomatoes and tuna, and bread. We were afraid it wouldn´t be enough food because Jason came over and we had to feed him too, but it was actually more than enough. En casa de pobre, mejor reventar que sobre (In a poor house, it´s better to throw up than to throw away leftovers). Last night we went to Pizzeria San Marco in the Barrio Santa Cruz. It´s in these ancient Moorish baths turned into a restaurant. The walls and ceiling are made of brick with archways and domes leading from one area to another. I ate eggplant with ham, shrimp and tomato cream sauce. Yum!
And in two more days, World Cup!!!!!!!! We are watching every single game in a bar somewhere, or in the street on big screens, or even, by some miracle (which I totally believe in because I really do have good luck when I travel), even in a stadium. No idea where I´ll be sleeping...eh, details...
